I was inspired to paint this house when I saw its lovely red roof! The roof looked so pretty with the blue sky and snow. I did this painting in thick oil paint on a 10x8 masonite board. I like using thick oil paint as it gives paintings a luscious texture that can’t be replicated in a print.

What stands out about this small painting is how quietly confident it feels, even in a room full of bold colors.
