Antique PROVIDENCE RHODE ISLAND School Still Life PAINTING - Signed Illegible

ORIGINAL PROVIDENCE RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL STILL LIFE FRUIT OIL PAINTING DE-ACCESSIONED FROM THE PROVIDENCE ART CLUB LIBRARY This is a wonderful original. A few years ago, I attended an auction that was some of the works being de-accessed from the Providence Art Club. Works were grouped in lots of 2 or 3 works and I was lucky enough to acquire a couple lots. One lot in particular caught my eye. It consisted of an incredible Charles Woodbury waves study and this painting. The Woodbury sold right away to a collector client and this painting has basically sat on a shelf above my desk since then. It is signed in the lower right corner and I have always thought I could figure out who the artist was. It looks like it is signed Hold or Held, or Nold or something like that. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure it out and have just decided to offer it out. It is a wonderful late 19th, early 20th Century Rhode Island school oil painting. A wonderful view of grapes and plums on a tray with wonderful patterned draperies under and around the tray. The quality of the work is truly superior. Really a stunning work. Oil on artist panel measuring 9 3/4 x 13 1/2 inches. Signature is lower right. Painting is in excellent condition with just a minor layer of surface grime. Corners show some wear from early framing. On the back are the original labels and identifiers from the Providence Art Club Library. Painting is unframed. If you know who the artist is, I would appreciate a note.
