Executed in about 1770 (note the sitter's dress and hairstyle), this round miniature is a portrait of a young woman referred to as "Mlle de Saint-Aldegonde". She was born in 1751. In 1774, she married a two years her junior Antoine Louis marquis de Wignacourt, future lieutenant general of the French Royal Army.
