Vintage framed Robert McFarren oil painting. Robert F. McFarren was born in Alma, MI on Dec. 14, 1917. McFarren arrived in Orange County, CA in the 1920s and grew up on an orange ranch. As a child he watched his mother, Lila, paint and later learned to paint through his observation. He was self-taught. During WWII he won a bronze star while in the elite Ski Troops and later served in the Korean conflict. He lived in Corona Del Mar until 1968 and then moved to the Monterey Peninsula and was soon active in the art scene in Carmel.
