Even as a busy and engaged mom, she made time to paint and take art lessons, including oils, acrylics and watercolors. Always generous with her time and talent, she often donated paintings to charitable causes and mentored many budding artists. Although not competitive by nature, she frequently entered art shows and won many awards and accolades. As a member of various associations of artists, she participated in exhibits, and she was selected for many juried art shows and outdoor events. For ten years, one of her paintings was selected as the primary image of the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk Race, sponsored by the Junior League. Her watercolor paintings of Florida scenes are particularly noteworthy, and through sales and donations, her paintings are enjoyed in homes all over the world.
